And so it is finally finished!

I've been working on this for so long, that I've lost count of the hours T.T...

This is a competition entry for =ThroughTheRabbitHole's competition. I've always been fascinated by Alice in Wonderland, although I did find it scary as a kid. So doing a pic of the mad hatter was really fun and it gives you a lot more motivation if it's for a competition XD.

The picture depicts the Mad Hatter from "Alice in wonderland". The reason that I chose to call him the Hatter instead, is because he is never named the Mad hatter in the book. It's just The Hatter.

I wanted to put as much of the character into the picture, I guess I did so-so. I'll point a few of the details out.

The Hatter is holding a pocket watch, which has stopped at 6 o'clock. In the book he had a fight with time and after that time has stopped at 6. The chain of the pocket watch has a little Alice on it. His hat has the characteristic 10/6 mark, which actually is a price tag. Meaning that The hatter is so mad (crazy) that he forgot to take it away. On top of his hat lies the dormouse, fast asleep and the Cheshire cat, transformed into a teapot. Finally, we have the flamingo, which Alice used to play croquet.

I am pretty pleased with the outcome though. Had I had more experience in coloring, it would have been better, but it is not too bad in my opinion. My biggest challenge with this pic was the colors. Picking colors is by far the hardest part of coloring. Because if you pick the wrong colors, the picture is doomed to look bad.

I actually still have a couple of details that could need some fixing, but since I'm entering it into a competition, I don't have the time T.T.
